The Process
Safe, Compliant & Certified Asbestos Tasks
01
Full Inspection & Property Analysis
Our certified experts perform a detailed check and gather samples of suspect debris at your Byron Bay or Northern Rivers site to clarify the specific presence and exact category of asbestos.
02
Total Containment & Site Setup
We build secure isolation zones with heavy-duty plastic and negative pressure machines to stop fiber drift during extraction, maintaining complete protection for your family, residents, or commercial staff.
03
Certified Extraction & Wet Cleaning
Our team uses damp-removal tech to keep dust down while extracting hazardous debris. All materials are double-wrapped and tagged in accordance with standard EPA environmental regulations.
04
Valid Certificate & Final Approval
After final HEPA cleaning and deep wiping, a third-party hygienist performs air tests. We then issue a formal Clearance Certificate, verifying the space is entirely safe for people to move back into.
Strict Regulatory Standards
At Coastal Restoration, safety is our primary focus. We work in total alignment with SafeWork NSW rules and the official Code of Practice for Safe Asbestos Removal. Our crews apply sophisticated HEPA filtering, unique isolation methods, and third-party clearance checks to ensure every workspace in the Northern Rivers is handed back in a healthy, clean, and completely breathable state.

Asbestos Support FAQ
Is there asbestos in my older house?
If the building dates before 1990, asbestos is quite likely. The only sure way to verify is via professional air and material lab testing performed by a certified examiner from our local team.
Must asbestos always be hauled away?
Not necessarily. If items are in good shape and left alone, they might be low risk. But if you are renovating or the items look frayed, certified removal is vital to stop the spread of toxic fibers.
What does the crew actually do?
We build a sealed workspace with thick barriers and air machines. Items are sprayed to trap dust, then carefully pulled out, sealed in heavy bags, and taken to a legal hazardous waste facility.
How many days will the work take?
Typical home jobs take 1 to 3 days based on size. This time covers the site setup, the physical removal, the industrial HEPA cleaning, and the final air quality test by a third-party lab.
Can neighbors stay during the work?
While small outdoor jobs might be okay, we advise leaving the house during internal work for maximum safety. We issue a full air clearance certificate before you are allowed to return home.
Are clearance documents provided?
Yes. After finishing, an outside inspector checks the air and surfaces to grant a clearance certificate. This ensures the site is ready for you to live in or continue your home renovation.
